"The Link" - April 2010
Our 90th Year!
Are you being published? Have you been promoted? Are you retiring? Does your company have a job opening? Do you have announcements you would like to share with ASM-ND Chapter? If so, please email a member of the Executive Board so we can put it in the LINK!
The members of the Executive Board want to hear from you! What meeting topics would interest you? Is there a plant tour you or someone else would like to give? Is there a topic you are an expert on and would like to share your knowledge with the other chapter members? Let us know! We are always open to ideas from our members.
Also, remember to that we give out a scholarship to students that are studying materials related fields in college. Click Here for more information.

Material Highlights
Platinum is a precious metal used for jewelry and industrial uses such as laboratory equipment, electrodes, thermometers, dental equipment, and catalytic converters. It is an extremely rare metal and occurs as only 0.003 ppb in the Earth’s crust. In times of economic stability and expansion the price of platinum tends to be twice the price of gold, while during periods of economic uncertainty the price of platinum tends to decrease due to reduced industrial demand.
